it feels absolutely great to be home! nothing can beat coming back home meeting your family and friends during Chinese new year. it is simply great. just being around family and friends makes you appreciate them more and can even make all your troubles in the world go away. unfortunately..not all troubles..

ever since i came back, i realised there is something not quite right with me. i feel something is bothering me...but i don't know what, why or who. i feel lost. lost in life. i don't know what i want to do with my life. what i want to achieve or what are my goals and etc...i practically have no plans! it doesn't help when i see friends succeeding in their careers, becoming managers, getting married, buying cars and houses but look at me?? don't get me wrong..i love my friends. they are the best. but when i'm around them, i feel foreign sometimes. like a stranger. but i think that is just because i haven't seen them for awhile.

even a couple of my friends asked me whether everything is alright with me. they say i'm not quite myself..but i tell them i'm fine...because i don't even know what is wrong with me. maybe over in nz i didn't have much of a social life...so i'm kinda adapting back to life now. so i'm still a little bit slow..but i'm really really glad my friends are still there for me.

i feel sometimes i'm starting all over again. living with my family, jobless, aimless, planless and moneyless. back to square one. i think i need to settle down. since i came back i haven't been or stayed at home for more than 2 weeks. so maybe i want to feel love again get pampered by my family and then start getting back on my own two feet again. considering when i was in nz, i didn't need to report to anyone, lived on my own, paid rent, have a job and living a care less life.

so what the f*ck is wrong with me?!

the main reason i came back to malaysia is for my family. to be close to them again. and now i'm already considering to move to singapore because of mag. do i want to move? mag wants me to move to singapore. singapore is nice. i like singapore. the country is modern, clean and safer. pay also higher! hehe but abit stress..ppl are abit like robots here...but the main thing is do i really want to move to singapore? did anyone asked me whether i want to work in singapore? everyone assumed i would end up there eventually. currently living with mag and i feel abit uncomfortable with the family around. maybe it is just me, considering we only have each other over in nz. so now we have a few more around and maybe it is making me feel uncomfortable. at the moment i don't feel like working yet. i secretly hope that people would not call me up for interviews or would not want to hire me. (I actually have one coming right up). majority of our lives are for working. work to buy this and that, work work work and before we know it, we might not even be there to enjoy life.

do i really have to choose between malaysia or singapore?

do i want to be near my family? or do i want to go away again, be alone?

do i want to go to nz again? do i want to try something new?

is this my so called troubles? or i just need time to think chill and sort things out? deep down inside i'm not 100% happy. not 100% Darren Tan. maybe i just need to relax and let things take its course. go with the flow or create the flow? or maybe i shouldn't be so hard on myself.

whatever it is, i need to figure out what is happening to me...fast!

mag came across this tvb series today as she wanted to watch chinese drama shows...

this is pretty good as they have the usual big stars and from the first episode the drama is good! and it is pretty new and the episodes are still on going in hk.

but best of all...it involves malaysia alot. hahaha.....i think tvb and tourism malaysia has some deal going on. the story involves one of the character that stays in Sabah...so quite a few episodes in Sabah...but mainly in HK.

so for those from Sabah...you might be able to see your home town in this tv series! maybe even your house?

i was reminded yet again how i'm in love with nz when me and mag travelled to sunny nelson on labour weekend. i fell in love with nz again.

the beautiful drive, lovely weather, amazing scenery and just leaving all the work stuff and the world behind was exactly what i needed. it was absolutely wonderful. it was like you were on a long holiday. no worries and just having real fun....ahhh...

until work started on tuesday. brought back to earth with freezing wet weather the next day. i was in shorts and tshirt the previous day and the next i was in winter clothings...wat the hell??!

best fish & chips ever! if you happened to be in nelson, i think this place has the best fish and chips. it is called Haven Fish & Chips on 268 Wakefield Quay, Nelson. HEAVENLY!

we were kinda starving after walking around the springs so we were looking for a place for lunch and mag so happened discovered this hidden gem in a brochure..

anatoki salmon farm

free fishing rod, free entry..you pay wat you catch and they can clean, cook or package it for you at a small fee. as inexperience fishing ppl we tried our luck.

however after awhile we realized that catching salmon is different from normal fishing. you don't just cast out and wait..u must cast out and when it hits the water for few seconds...if the bait is not bitten by the fish, you have to reel in and cast again...after realizing that...it was still pretty tough to catch one..until helped came from a friendly family beside us that obviously have done this lots of times...they gave us some of their remaining bait(which can be bought for $2). when we cast our line out this time, the kids threw some of the bait near my hook and we immediately got a salmon!

this was the second fish we got! bigger than the first..GO team darren & mag! haha

however..when u catch the fish..u got to unhook the salmon and then grab the knife provided and stabbed the poor fish on the head ...1cm from the eyes..it almost instantly kills the fish..
the first fish suffered as it was a very angry fish. i did not kill the first fish as i have never done it before. the friendly family helped us kill the fish. he didn't quite get the head. however the second one fish i have to be the killer as the family left...so i had to step up and stab the fish in the head...it almost instantly kill the fish.
btw this wasn't my first time fishing but it was the first time i have to kill the fish..brutal but i felt good...not good as i like killing...okay nvm..u all thinking i'm some sort of psycho killer now..haha
the last time when i fish was like in primary school..sweet memories..
it was definitely fun and enjoyable. the thrill and rush when the fish bites the bait..

it was all worth it! look at mag..never had so much fun..

and after 20mins..our very own smoked salmon served in a pizza box, soft drinks, with garlic bread and the sun shining brightly above us..ahhhhhh.....orgasmic!! this is definitely a must do if you are in nelson!
it was a super super weekend. one of the most enjoyable holiday i had in nz.
damn..gonna miss kiwi life!

went and watch the movie with mag today. it is pretty good. not extremely good but recommended. however i think i was more in love with the cinema. i watched the show in
penthouse cinema & cafe. this place is a hidden treasure! not the dodgy penthouse yah!

it is totally an extinct old skool cinema. the building itself has like around 3 cinemas i think..but the seats are clean, the place looks old but grand, in the common area they have a cafe, you can bring your drinks into your cinema and they don't even need a ticket collector. so honest! really cool...i'll try to grab some pics when i go there again. whoever visiting wellington and has a little extra time to spare should definitely go catch a movie in penthouse cinemas. bring back so many lovely old memories of me watching movies with dad, bro and cousins..love it! bring back old skool cinemas!!

mag is in sydney for a week on a holiday and i am bored!!

hmmm...lets see, i heard that U2 might be performing in NZ again and this time it would and hopefully be in wellington! woohooo

i have 2 concerts to go to this year too...one is black eyed peas in october and the other one is greenday in december. better see them before i don't have anymore chance to see them later. really regretted not going to matchbox20 and coldplay so this time i won't miss these concerts even i have to fly up to auckland to watch them.

currently i'm really psyched up and excited to go home. been really great catching up and talking to ppl at home about me coming back. i don't have much planned but at least i'm looking forward to chinese new year and also the super duper cheap flights from air asia.

have a trip to krabi booked and also 2 trips down to singapore. the tickets are so CHEAPP!!! if any of you planning to go back..you guys better buy some of these tickets. i nearly wanted to go everywhere!! cambodia, vietnam, laos, thailand, hong kong & china!! but luckily i stopped myself from buying all these tickets because eventhough i can afford the flights but i might not be able to afford accomodation and activities for the trip. furthermore i don't plan to look for a job when i'm back. maybe work part time or something like that as i have some dreams and plans to work on! wanted to make it a reality! fingers crossed! =P

i think it was definitely a confident booster that someone wanted to hire me..

but it was stupid on my part for being so honest to the employer..i think i should have lied and told him that i'll be working long term...but not so good lar...feel guilty if i did..not so fair for him..since initially i planned to go back home for good..BAHH!!

anyway i went for another interview for the current role that i'm working at as a temp. my colleague is going on maternity leave so they are hiring...but it didn't went that well though..

so...due to my stupidity/honesty...i got a good feeling that i'll be jobless soon...haha..

anyway after much thinking over the weekend about job opportunities and my future in nz, i decided to follow my heart. and home is where the heart is. so going back for good.. looks pretty good right now. haha =)

ever since i moved to wellington last year i have been looking for a job related to my degree.

but without any luck. until now...6 more months before i head back to malaysia for good since prospects of staying here is not very good.

saw this ad about a job i like and decided to apply for fun. and who da hell would have known i was asked to go for an interview? so i happily agree to go for the interview and the back of my head i already know what the outcome of the interview will be: another failed attempt.

but wait. hell no. it was more like a job offer. i went to meet up with the manager and he was quite nice. we went to a cafe and had coffee. he told me what he wanted me to do, what are my tasks and projects and told me about the pay and everything. it wasn't like a interview at all. more like go and have coffee and tell me more about myself. by the way besides the experience, skills and a good reference from my ex-supervisor, he actually remembered me. he remembered me because this is the 3rd time applying for a job at his place. talked about
persistence and patience..haha..

so what i'm trying to say now is ...my headache begins...

the big question is..should i stay or should i leave?

the main reason for me going back to malaysia is family and friends. but i do have plans as well when i'm back at malaysia. maybe look for a job to fund my travels(japan/europe) and eventually coming back to nz to study for a year and excel in my new career. (something super exciting and also dangerous..don't ask me what but i got my mother's approval..haha)

if i do take the job, my plans might be put on hold and i will be away from my family and friends. i might be all alone here but i can further my career in a job that is related to my degree. the pay might be better and working conditions are better as well.

i just talked to my mom and aunt for like an hour seeking advice. but at the end of the conversation, they are very supportive in whatever i do and told me to do what i want. it is all up to me.

what should i do? what should i DO!

after all that is said, i know the final decision is all entirely up to me. but what if i make the wrong decisions? there is something in me telling me that i'm running out of time. i have so many things that i want to do and i feel if i delay them any longer i might forget about them and eventually be sucked into the boring cycle of working life behind a desk just doing what i need to do to survive. i want to live. i want to be happy i want to live life to the fullest. i want to see the world and push my limits and boundaries.

i realised that i have a gift...at least that is what i think..

not a super special one.. but i can remember faces and people really well..even if i have only met them once..or seen them somewhere in town or some place ..or work with them for a short time..

i seem to be able to remember their faces really fast and be able to say roughly where and when i saw them...haha..crazy right..but most of the time i won't be able to say hi because they won't even remember me..i'll go like:

hahaha..sound abit like stalker liao.. maybe me i like to observe people that is why..see how they act and react..maybe i should join the police or something.

look what is sitting on my bedroom floor? i got myself... LG 32LH50YD full HD LCD TV.

i haven't even got a tv cabinet for it. i just got this tv last week because our flatmate decided to get myskyhdi. so i decided to buy a lcd tv for my room because they have free multiroom that came with the package. and then if u buy a tv from harvey norman, they will upgrade your normal decoder into a myskyhdi for free for 6months. how good is that? if you are looking at buying a lcd tv right now at around $1500 price range...go for my model or the model below.

both model features are almost the same but the LG has the new 100hz feature and can play mpeg, vob and avi files from your external hard drive or usb. But samsung price has just dropped dramatically and it is around $1200++ at harvery norman. i bought the LG for $1588. but always compare prices and ask them to beat your prices. they surely can do something about it. My tv at other places can only go as cheap as $1750 or $1800. So remember to do your research!!

recently i wanted a leather jacket and i finally got one. after months and months of looking! unfortunately leather jackets don't come cheap. i gave up my search for one at the right price and right size..until me and mag saw one today at a shop. it cost $229.90 and other shop $219.00. but with some research i got mine for only $190!! woohoo.. thanks to student discount. thanks to my baby for going in and out of shops to try and compare prices!! xoxo heheh..

did you know i'm running a backpackers now in wellington?

business is doing really well...

my business started off when christine came and visited us when we first moved to wellington. we were living in a studio back then. it was not spacious but we managed to take christine as our first customer. then news travelled, ying swan was our second and last customer at our small but cozy studio apartment.

we realized that the business has potential to grow and we rented a townhouse. business have been going real steady for this year. to prove this, i will show you the list of my clients for 2009:

pretty impressive eh? hehehe...it's been really nice having friends and family coming over for visits and for other reasons too. we enjoy the company. more the merrier. our place is not big but we have mattresses and you can sleep on the floor. backpackers style lar..heheh..best of all...free of charge! =) i think everyone is coming over now because we will be closing down the business at the end of the year.

then you guys have no more reasons to visit wellington!

anyway ...after a week or so of thick fog, rain and cloudiness, i can finally see sunlight for the first time!!! it really made my day even the day was freezing cold and also the fact that manchester united lost the champions league finale....... but i guess you can't have everything...

coldest game ever played

i played an outdoor football game today and i think it is one of the coldest game i've ever played. it could be one of the most challenging one as well. temperature wise was not too bad. supposedly somewhere around 9°C or lower but the wind was the killer. the wind chill was like 3°C. not forgetting the rain as well. the wind was so strong that you can't stand at one spot. you seem to be going no where when you run against the wind. the rain drops feels like hail when it hits your face. can't feel your hands even with gloves.

example of how strong the wind was... my team right back cleared the ball hard and high towards the sideline and it flew up and floated in the air and came back to him on his chest... -_-" crazy right? and not forgetting we had like a million throw-ins because everytime you play the ball high, it just flew to the left of the pitch and goes out.

brrrrr......freaking freezing. but it was all good as i scored a goal! =P and if you have watched the news, ferries have stop sailing because of the wind and swells. small aircrafts as well..what a good day to play? they should have bloody cancelled the game. now i respect those epl players for getting so high pay when they play in winter. they totally deserve the money. the freaking house is freezing too...i hate winter!

remember armageddon? i watched it again yesterday on tv. u know the part where the father says goodbye to the daughter? i bet you do cause that part is the most touching part....always bring tears to my eye. but i only realized yesterday that there is many more touching/teary moments in the movie especially involving father/daugher/son moments. when i first watched it few thousand years ago...the only teary one was the last scene...but this time there were so many...

dammit...i got injured yesterday as i was playing goal keep for this mixed team. i was so gutted. it was the final and we were leading 2-0 when i was out. stupid eye injury again. i was pretty on form yesterday. no goals eventhough they had lots of shots. but all they need was a shot and a deflection to direct the ball of my hands to my head. bang. contacts came off and the blurness has arrived. not the normal blurness when you don't wear your contacts or glasses. the same kind of blurness i encounter during Dunedin Bersatu games. the one where some part of my eye ball was bleeding. damn damn damn.

oh btw this team was an all girls team. they needed a goalkeeper and i needed to play football badly. so i joined them. but don't laugh. i'm not pretending to be a girl but mind you it is a mixed team league. they are awesome players. don't underestimate them. they are tough, organized and very passionate. they keep possession of the ball and do not waste the ball. most of the team will have 2 girls and 3 boys on the field. but i am the goal keeper with 4 female outfield players. awesome. we even have our very own version of marta(search youtube if you don't know her. female version of pele).

but anyway after i was unable to play...we lost 4-2. with a last minute shot on the post which could have level the scores.(girl goal=2). sigh...we were runner ups and we were really disappointed. not to be overconfident but if i had not get injured, i believe we could have won it. damn. sad........argghhh....now i know why those sportsmen and women cry when they lose out at the finals..

anyways thank god today my vision has returned. so i guess it wasn't as serious as last time. doc said there is no damage but i should stay of sports for a week or two(according to mag) =P. so here i am bloggin.

i realised lately i am getting lazier and lazier...gosh... no passion to do much..

ahhh lets see...can't wait for my mommy, daddy, and aunties to come. only like a month away. gonna give them big big hug when they arrive. oh ..and also the goodies that they will bring all the way from malaysia!!!=))) can't wait for my south island trip with my "whanau"(family). it would require me to drive alot though...and i'm not joking...at least 30hours of driving in 9 days around south island. good luck to me! hopefully the scenery would compensate all that driving.

i'm slowly getting back into shape. as u know i'm currently playing for a mixed team indoor football team, then i'm also playing for another mixed indoor football team at the place i work and on the weekends i'm part of the outdoor 11 a side mens winter league. I also play with the same guys in the mens indoor football. ocassionally i join mag's company for indoor netball. there you go.....getting back into sports and aching here and there...but it is great! but i think abit overdose of football though..as much as i love to join all of them, it is burning a hole in my pocket! almost every game i play i have to pay $10 or less...imagine if i play 4 games a week...it would cost me $40 a week, a month $160...have to stop at least two teams.

bankrupt man if i continue playing like this. why football can't be free...grrrr...might consider to continue but i'll soon be out of job come april 17. my current place don't need my services anymore. so hopefully can find something rather quickly...need to pay da bills yo!

my very first cuba carnival. apparently it has been around for 10 years now. i have not heard of it at all when i was in auckland. but it was awesome! whole day event in wellington city. most of the major roads were close and there is a party at every corner of the city. great!

one more week and 2008 is over. can you believe how fast one year has just gone by?? goshh.. so many things had happened. Was in Auckland at the beginning of the year and now I'm living in Wellington. Two of my cousins just got married and another left this world..what can i say..

anyways lets see what is there to update..hmmmm..

been a bit busy lately because been making a website for audrey's band. almost done now.

oh yah, i have a car now to drive around in wellington. my brother decided to buy a car over here so that he can import the car back to malaysia later on. so basically i'm using his car and also maintaining it. so whoever plans to come visit me, i'll surely drive you around.

me and mag went to rotorua last weekend. it was quite a last minute thing. we got those weekender deals from grabaseat. the package was considered a good deal i must say. $129 per person includes return flight + 1 night stay at 4 star novotel hotel + agrodome free sheep show.

plane ride was quite bumpy as the weather was like crap..

after the show we headed to the zorb! unfortunately don't have any photos as cameras will definately not survive the ride...rolling down a steep hill in a big ball filled with warm water..it was damn fun but it is a bit expensive for a few seconds..

next day after checking out at 10am, we grabbed some breakkie and headed to the polynesian spa. this is my second time here but the first time was only just going for a dip in the hot spa pools. but this time we did the hot spa pool and 30 min massage as well...

we dip for around 4o mins. starting from the cooler ones to the hotter ones. after that we have to change and go for our massage. this is my first ever ever massage and it was a little weird for me. but wat the hell, always a first time. i have to put on a disposable underwear which is practically a g-string/thong. it was, ummm...very uncomfortable and unsual. imagine i have to take my robe and towel off in front of a stranger somemore. paiseh man..

anyway the massage and treatment was actually really nice. i enjoyed it alot, especially the foot massage. the massages at first was super ticklish but when i learn to relax, it was really relaxing. i enjoyed it very much especially the part where the massage your buttocks......just kiddin..that was the weirdest part really..lol..

last night i talked and waved my hands in my sleep.

mag said i was saying "ta lei"(beat you) lots of time and was sweating heavily.

that was weird..

all i can remember about my dream was:

- running around

- shopping mall

- my cousin's family. but he wasn't around.

funny..come to think about it..maybe it reminded me about the times when i always hang out at their place. my aunt always bring us to shopping malls and we always have alot of fun together. sigh..wat to do...life goes on..

i managed to talk to jason(eddie's younger bro) and he was handling it well. he said the parents are doing okay too. that is a relief. time sure passes us so bloody quickly..i used to manja jason alot..now he is like all grown up.

my cousin, choy, even told me that jason and derek told him not to be sad because of his brother's passing and said eddie wouldn't want to see us sad and would hope that we all appreciate life more...i was like..wow..i can't even be that strong..sigh..

nope. i didn't win last week's lotto powerball jackpot draw. in fact the 1st division was not won.

guess what i did today(more like yesterday)?

i got out of bed today at 530am and left the house around 550am so i can stand second in line for the michael hill crazy sale.

why did i go so early?

i guess the kiasu-ness in me kicked-in when i was browsing through their super cheap promotion the day before and i saw this dude was already in line for the $1 diamond ring that will only go on sale the next day. i was worried that i wouldn't be able to get my hands on some good deals the next day. so that is why i got up so early.

the first guy was there 3pm since the day before. he was going for the $1 diamond ring and he was getting it for his sister.

second was me. i was there at 6am. i was trying to get a nice pressie for my mom's birthday.

mine wasn't real diamonds but i think it is real gold. retail $125 but got it for $19. bargain right??

third was asian girl. she was there around 630am to get something for herself. she got a $1 ring. real silver and some don't know wat stones..

fourth was an ang-moh who came like 645am to get a pressie for her gf birthday. he got like a nice $49 gold ring.

fifth was a islander/pacifican lady which came like 7am that was getting paid by a friend to line up to get something for the friend's gf. she got a nice $49 double hearted gold ring.

why i know so much?

because the five of us were like discussing who want which one and who will get which one when we got into the shop. we were civilised about it. they were all very friendly and we were talking to each other to kill time. u know ppl say asian ppl kiasu...but this ang moh guy who came like wayyyyy later like 830am or so...and started to stand behind the fifth person....we were like what the hell? is he just wanting to look at the jewellery at the window or is he trying to cut the queue? later there was this older ang moh woman behind us...confronted him and said if u are buying u should line up because the line was getting longer. he was just like ignoring and saying he came really early and stood there. WTF? later when the numbers were given to the ppl which were in line and that woman told the staff that he wasn't in line and the staff told him off and get to the back of the line and ignore the guy. and the amazing thing is..he act like he was totally innocent to the staff and was giving the look "u believe what these guys are saying?"...WTF?! feel like putting a gun to his head man..

anywayyyyy that was about it...we went into the shop around 9am and got our respective jewellery and got out. it was quite an experience...lol

hope mom loves it. sent it to her today.

kjeldsens butter cookies are the best. grew up eating these butter cookies.

i do remember them to be very expensive too. don't get to eat them often.

and do you know what you do with the tin container after finishing those delicious cookies?

nope. you don't throw them out. you re-use them. use it to store stuff.

my mom and aunt use them to store sewing stuff like threads, needles, buttons, etc.

and you know what is the cool thing i found out today?

mag's grandma uses these containers for the same purpose as my mom and aunt.

ever wonder what am i usually up to in wellington?

when you start working, things are pretty much of a routine.

since me and mag don't know much people over here. our choices are almost zero...

our friends are pretty much our work mates.

lets see...

on weekdays, we work.

we wake up early in the morning and work till 5. Since winter is sort off over, we get to enjoy some daylight after work. we try to make it a point to cook on weekdays to save money. we occasionally eat out on weekdays. weekday nights are pretty much spent at home. that involves cooking, watching tv, resting and surfing the net.

tuesdays are quite special to me as I get to play indoor soccer. I play with my work mates from ministry of justice in a mix league team. but it is almost over now..we are in the semis! woot!

as for weekends, we will try to get our asses outside of the house. we will often wake up around noon and go walkabout in this small and vibrant city. maybe do some washing,

some groceries

shopping

eating good food

we have tried all the dim sum places and have two favourite place we often go to - regal and grand century.

rent a couple of dvds/ go to the movies.

church

and so on..

you get the idea. sucks to be working eh..sigh..

not sighing in a bad way but time sure flies..one moment i was in high school and suddenly i'm in nz. not complaining at all but thankful really. consider myself extremely lucky. one thing i regret is not getting to know my family and friends more..get to know them better. shall do that from now on when given the opportunity. miss yum cha sessions!!! ARGHH!!

anyway really looking forward for warmer weather, going back to malaysia next year and going back to auckland during labour weekend on october! wooohooo

and for now...weekend faster come!!

why didn't i have time to update me blog...

those were some of the main reasons/excuses for not updating my blog. it is true though.

ever since i got the psp, i've been playing non stop every night and been researching, reading forums/game reviews, downloading games, modding and buying a memory stick and all. since i bought the previous memory stick and it didn't work properly..now i'm returning it and getting a new one. so more time surveying on trademe(like ebay in nz) looking for a new one. Be careful of fake memory sticks out there...there are lots of them.

as for work. work is still work. been working for almost 2 months now at the ministry of justice. i can't find the type of jobs i want but what the heck i'm not complaining. what ever i can get i'll grab it. as for those who are wondering what i am doing, i'm only a admin co-ordinator. $15 per hour...sad..but recently there was an opening for the same role but more responsibilities in the finance side which i have no experience at all but it is all easy stuff and the kind people i work with are teaching me lots these few weeks so i could get the job which is only advertised internally. job pay not so bad lar..35k - 47kmax for the admin & finance co-ordinator role. handed me application now waiting for interview. so i'm hopeful.

been sleeping late this past week as my old employer gave me some freelance job. it is updating on a presentation tool they created. this is the second time they came to me because they can't find someone so cheap and know what they want. lol..better than nothing..get paid $25per hour so not complaining either. real programmer charge $40 per hour. siao! so i guess money wise, i am well fed but still struggling to save because of my love for technology. it is costing me..lol..just bought a ipod nano today. and if i do really get the role at the ministry i will want to buy a canon dslr 450d. ....shit man..no wonder i am so poor all the time.

anyway olympics is damn cool. phelps and bolt...freaks! so i guess that is about it.

sooo...hopefully now i get the job so i can work for another year or so and all me gadgets can keep me entertained and i can stop worrying about everything else and get ready to go back to malaysia!!! i miss home very very much..life is pretty boring here..so hopefully the weather gets better so me and mag can go out tomorrow!.....come out mr. sun.

on another note, after watching dark knight the other day, i suddenly missed home.

so i decided to ask my brothers to take my family and go watch the movie as one of my aunty like to watch action movies a lot. i brought her a couple of times to watch some action movies when i was in malaysia.

in saying that i thought my brothers were going to be too busy with work and family that they will not have time to take them to the movies. so i rang home and told my mom and aunty to ask my brothers to bring them there. just so my brothers cannot find any excuse and run away because mom and aunty already requested.heheh

mom and aunty said they missed me and haven't heard from me for awhile...my heart dropped...sigh..i miss them too..boohoooo note to myself..got to call home more often..

anyway one year will go by quickly and soon i will be home. =)

This 3 movies is highly recommended.

Dark Knight is a MUST watch movie of the year. Bloody good.

It's been way too long since I saw a good fcukin action packed movie.

The story line, the stunts, and most importantly Heath Ledger as Joker is bloody scary awesome. I like how the director made the movie so modern and dark compared to the previous batman movies which were more comic book/fantasy like. You can actually feel and relate to it. There are scenes that made me go wow and have goose bumps all over..u know the feeling..can't explain it man..

Worth paying $15 for these movies? Definately! Must WATCH!!

Went to watch the movie last night and i totally missed the cinema atmosphere in Malaysia. The cinema was full and everyone bought the tickets damn early. Everyone was so excited to watch the movie. By New Zealand standard this is the first time I've seen it happening. In my cinema, Batman, Robin, Batgirl and Joker was also present. No joke. They were the retro ones though. lol..

this is my favourite line and I'm sure it will be yours too after watching the movie..

had sharvin, ivan, jeremy, sher mayne, jeffrey(i think) and his gf over yesterday for dinner.

i cooked curry chicken and mag cooked the veges.

it was super yummy..at least to me lar...hehheheh

after dinner, we played cards and mahjong. all of us were practically playing mahjong. those who knew how to play was supervising and teaching the ones that do not know how to play(sharvin, jeremy and sher mayne).

but at the end of the night, sharvin was already so pro, he was teaching sher mayne and jeremy. the rest of us was playing "cho tai tee".

i really enjoyed myself last night. wish they didn't have to go. sigh...me and mag was very happy to have them/you over. hope no one got stomach ache or anything today..hehe =)

wasted ying swan could not join us because of meetings and wasted i forgot to take pictures of the night...aiyahhh...nvm..maybe end of the year we will come up to auckland and have more mahjong sessions!

by the way..UMSA got first place overall in Bersatu this year. Congratulations to all the players who played their hearts out! after all the oldies left the team, the young ones are able to win everything! *respect* *respect*

i thought of supporting portugal and netherlands for euro 2008 but both the favourites are out.

i was sad when portugal went out. but as i watched holland play today, i was hoping for them to lose. only player i was supporting was goalkeeper/captain, edwin van der sar. sad. his last international game.

i guess i like seeing the underdogs win. it was really a good win for russia. full time 1-1, extra time 3-1. arshavin & pavlyuchenko was awesome. players to keep an eye for.

so tomorrow spain or italy? been watching the games alone at the abel tasman hotel restaurant.moccachino and 90mins++ of live soccer at 645am, ahhhhh....this is living.

i really miss playing team sports. soccer, volleyball, touch, netball, takraw and etc. no kaki lar over here...haihz..

i think my most memorable times are the countless trainings and the times when the vball team won 3 golds in a row in 3 years without ever going into 3rd set and the time i scored 2 goals against what ever team it was, i forgot liao..it was freaking awesome feeling. like world cup like that..

the recent interview was not successful.

Champs of Europe!! Woohoo..

Freakin got a heart attack while watchin this game...i thought man utd was going to lose when i watched john terry take the penalty(i always jinx man utd when i watch their games live)...but who would have known? football is football...freaking unpredictable and unbelievable.

woke up at 645am and walked in freezing cold to a pub(four kings) to watch the game.

that place was packed like crazy! had to stand at the entrance. but it was a good place to watch live sports...had over 20 LCD screens man...awesome!

anyway still no job...a couple of employers emailed or called to ask some questions..no interviews yet..

been having sleepless nights past four days. went to bed around midnight and woke up around 4 or 5am. will toss about and still cannot sleep. feel very irritated and will go to the loo but still cannot sleep. so will switch on computer early in the morning to surf net or play some games..after an hour or so...then i will be able to sleep... freaking weird man... anyone know why this is happening to me? coldness? stress? i need sleeping pills..

the weather has been great so far. of course i have to say the wind is crazy here but it is not so bad really. just don't bother setting your hair before leaving the house.

this place is not only windy but hilly too. way too hilly i think. the other day i played soccer for the first time after like a month not playing(WOOHOO!) i had to walk like 15 mins to get to the field. i am not complaining because i have to walk to the field, but it is the climb to the field. it is like 15mins of pure climb. by the time i reached the field, i'm already tired. the field is pretty cool because it is like at the top of the hill and you can oversee the city. but no complains. at least got steady dosage of soccer.

people here are much more friendly i think because they are more exposed to asians here because alot of ppl here come from different places. so i guess they are more patient and understanding. haven't experience the"f**k off asians" or "stupid asians" or "go back home" those kind of stuff yet.

as for food..there is lots of malaysian restaurants. it is a good thing. quality wise not all good but we know what dish is nice from which restaurant. we manage to find a roti canai place which actually make them fresh. one of our favourite places. really nice roti canai and curry. roti chennai, kk restaurant, r&s satay noodle house, kc cafe are one of our regular restaurants. ask me to recommend where to eat when you come down to welly.

they also got a sunday market in the city where you can grab fresh vegies and fruits. pretty cool and pretty cheap!

we really need to find a new place to stay. the current one is like so small that we have to slowly walk around the room in order not to push something down or knock or leg on the table. if we can't find a new place, we might kill each other i tell you. seriously. not joking.

This is long overdue...the trip back to Malaysia was as usual...GREATTTTT!

Some of the highlights were(in no particular personal favourite order):

1) Baby Jayden took up most of my time during my time back. He is such a cutie. His specialty is that he never stops smiling.

Another favourite trick of his is the piggy face. Everytime you say piggy mouth in canto he makes this face and then he will laugh because you laugh as well.

He also dont like to be left alone in the room. He will cry everytime you leave the room. So in order to not make him cry, you either take him out of the room and go out and play with him or you play with him in the room and hope that he will eventually fall asleep. But guess what? Most of the time I will be the one falling asleep on his bed and he continues playing by himself. There was once he bite my leg so that i'll wake up....cheeky boy!

2) Good old friends. They never fail to put a smile on my face. The countless futsal and mamak sessions it was awesome. Got the chance to catch up with almost everyone. Majority of them are all working now. Most of us are getting bigger and some skinnier. One thing i kesian about my friends are the late night hours they work. Everytime we go mamak, I'll see them coming in their working clothes and they will say they just came from work. Which is around 11pm?... kesian... crazy... but it's all good. Thanks for organizing all the futsal sessions, hangout sessions, cs sessions and the farewell dinner too. Thanks a bunch ppl. Love you ppl. =)

3) Food was of course another highlight. I managed to fulfill most of my food list...so I guess that was pretty good.

4) Family of course the most important. Parents are getting older, aunties are getting older..it is good to catch up and spend time together with them. Just found out that mom is no longer hired by her company. She didn't even let us know. Had chance to meet some of my cousins and uncles which is also good. I realised that home is much more quieter now because my sis and I are away. But at least there is Jayden for them to take care and keep them busy.

I miss my mommy, daddy and aunties. =(

5) Holiday!! Managed to travel abit this time. Me and mag did lots of shopping in Malaysia and Bangkok. Mostly in Bangkok I must say. It was like 3D 2N of shopping. Shop + Tom Yum Gong + Shop + Tom Yum Gong + Shop + Sleep = bankrupt..hehehehe but it was so worth it. One crazy thing about Bangkok is the traffic. It is insane. Their taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers LAGI insane I tell you. Taxi drivers speed like mad on highways. They go around 140kph - 150kph. Siao man...I wanna put seat belt on also cannot..because there is NO SEAT BELTS in the back seat. But overall the trip is awesome..food was super delicious and our hotel was great. If you look at the photo below, you can see our hotel bed was decorated with roses you know. So nice. This is because when we made the booking online we tick the box honeymooners...

During my trip back in Malaysia, I played host/tour guide twice. Once for Mag's family and the other for a Japanese friend.

To tell you honestly, I actually enjoyed it. For so many years I've been in Malaysia, this is the very first time I've visited the Petronas Twin Tower Skybridge, Batu Caves, Tugu Negara, Masjid Negara, Istana Negara and the Indian Temple near China Town. Damn shy lar...this places are so beautiful. I'm ashamed of myself man...but it is never too late to go visit these places yourself!

That summarizes my recent trip back to Malaysia and I can't wait for the next one. Hopefully that will be the one where I'll be back for good. =) We will see how things will go eh? Go with the flow...

currently working in mag's office. temping for 2 weeks as a packer.

sort of settled in to our studio apartment. trying to make it is as homely as possible. place is just to small. going to start killing each other in no time.

besides the wind, everything is going good. awesome weather past few days, still got income, tried lots of malaysian restaurants, nice and friendly ppl...so it is pretty damn good actually.

just missing the friends, family and car..

Mag got a job offer in Wellington.

She got a very good job.

Something she wanted and pays pretty well.

That means change is inevitable. But I guess it's all good.

This news came in a pretty good time. She needs a job for next year and now she got it. I needed to find a new job and now I have no more excuses or any chance to procrastinate. The bad things is I'll miss all my beloved friends here in Auckland. I'll miss all my soccer, volleyball, netball and parties. I'll have to start all over down in Wellington. But I guess it is not so bad because I'll be busy working and there won't be much time to socialize anyways.

So am I scared? Of course I am. I'll need to start all over again. But I'm sure we'll do fine. At least we've got each other. So it is not so bad. We'll survive. =) If it doesn't work out, Auckland is not very far away anyways.

Babe, don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy to be going down with you to Wellington. I'm just feeling a little bit nervous. That's all. I'm 100% with you!

But I'm excited to do this. Life is unpredictable. I like it! Soon I'll be in a new place with new job and new friends. (of course I'll miss the old ones as well...Auckland+Malaysia+Rest of the world)

It's been too long since Auckland had good weather. So me and mag wasted no time and seized the day, last saturday.

We headed to Clevedon for Oysters! Very cheap only...2 fresh large dozen of oysters only for $22 bucks.

We weren't just gonna eat our oysters just like that. We tapao them to Mission Bay! We tapao some fish and chips to go with our oysters! YUM!! Those who have not tried them, please do..it is super yummy. I used to not like all these kinda stuff...

Not So Secret Afterall..

I guess some of you or maybe most of you had already known or guessed it.

YES is the answer. I've got PR! I've just got the letter last Wednesday.(no fun lar you guys...so fast burst my bubble)

However, I've yet to receive the permit put onto my passport. Until that is in my passport, I'll officially say that I'm a "New Zealand Permanent Resident" and then you can congratulate me! =)

I'm really happy actually. Now I can enjoy some benefits of being a residence and start looking for better paying jobs.

But in the same time, I've got to stay two more years for now in order to gain an indefinite PR. That means, two more years away from my family. Don't get me wrong but I do want the PR but two more years away is pretty long. My dad is 65 now, my mom is 60 and both my aunts that live with us is 60+ as well. We always take things for granted. We assume that they will always be with us forever. Of course I would love that but in reality, they are not going to be by your side forever. This leaves me with a decision to make. But I will have to sort it out myself for now.

So that is why, I'll be heading home this xmas for a month to see me family. This time it's going to be a family focused holiday. Rather than the last one which I didn't spend much time with them. So that is something I am so F**King excited about!! and friends and food of course..hehe

I'm just such a blessed child I tell you. I'm so freaking lucky. It's been really great I tell you..

Wei En was involved in a car accident last friday. She was knocked down by a car while trying to cross the road. Thank god she only have a few bruises, a swollen head and some lil cuts here n there. Nothing major considering she cracked the windscreen of the car...and she wasn't txting while crossing the road(just to clear things up).

Anyway..luckily she is all well and recovering.

Still the same wacky direct crazy horny girl..so rest assured she is still Wei En. Hahaha

NZ "Oscars"

Yesterday I got the opportunity to attend "The Air New Zealand Screen Awards". It was kinda cool. It was the NZ version of the Oscars...or maybe more like the Emmy Awards. I was there because my company produced a reality series(Henderson to Hollywood) about Spacifix(local band). It was about the band's journey chasing their dreams and making it big in the music industry. The show was nominated for the best reality series and we won it as well! Wooohooo!!

Anyway It was kinda exciting as many local stars were there.

I felt like I was a "somebody" at the awards ceremony but in fact I was a "nobody". Anyway it was great to see all the actors and actresses up close. Ranging from stars from Outrageous Fortune, Shortland Street, C4 VJs, Dancing with the Stars, Casino Royale's director, Martin Campbell and many many more.

Overall the experience was really cool but it was kinda boring a lil tiny bit along the way. Lots of funny moments and also free drinks..so no complains..somemore I was there for free. Tickets cost at least $90 bucks man...

Gwen Stefani

It's been quite a good week..

Me and Mag went to Gwen's Concert on Thursday and it was awesome!!

Here is a lil clip from the concert..

Overall I really enjoyed the concert. One of the highlights of the concert was when she climbed down from the main stage and headed down to the camera platform near the back of the stadium. She then talk to the crowd and asked us to "fucking" sing along to her next song. She then climbed over the fence and ran up to the crowd and sang the entire "cool" song in the crowd.

The concert was really cool. She sang lots of songs from her new album and also not forgetting her old songs such as rich girl, hollaback girl, cool, sweet escape, 4 in the morning, orange county girl, wonderful life, the real thing, danger zone, early winter, wind it up, yummy and many more...she ended her concert in a climatic way with her first ever single "what you waiting for". Awesome..just awesome!

Other updates..

played volleyball on Saturday..it was damn fun..because it was the first time since bersatu and the standard we were playing were quite good. we were joined by many skillful players. more intense but yet still fun! thank you mag for tagging along with me eventhough i know you are super tired/sleepy! hugs + kisses!

work has been busy. busy = more money because boss have decided to pay me for overtime and also everytime i work in the edit suite.
